WIRING BOARD
A bee frame wiring board, also known as a frame wiring jig, is a tool used in beekeeping to hold frames securely while wiring and attaching eyelets. Bee frames are wooden structures that hold beeswax foundation sheets, which serve as a guide for bees to build their honeycomb.
Wiring frames is a process in beekeeping that involves attaching wires across the frame horizontally. These wires provide support for the beeswax foundation. It prevents it from sagging or breaking under the weight of honey and bees. Eyelets are small metal rings inserted into the frame. They hold the wire in place and prevent it from cutting into the wood.
To use a bee frame wiring board, you would start by placing the frame on the board and locking it into place. Then, you thread the wire through the holes on the frame. As you work, you stretch the wire across the frame and thread it through the corresponding holes on the other side. The wire is tightened and secured using eyelets inserted into the frame.
Using a frame wiring board provides stability and consistency in the wiring process. Thus, ensuring that the wires are evenly tensioned and properly positioned across the frame. It makes the task of wiring multiple frames more efficient. It helps produce sturdy frames for the bees to build their comb.
